Biswanath Chariali Witnessing Rapid Development Under Double-Engine Government: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that the state government is making sincere efforts to ensure balanced development across all districts of Assam, highlighting the transformation of Biswanath Chariali as a clear example.

In a post shared on social media, Sarma stated that during the tenure of the Indian National Congress government, development across Assam was not evenly distributed. He alleged that despite ruling the state for decades, the Congress failed to build adequate infrastructure in Biswanath Chariali.

The Chief Minister said the situation has changed significantly under the present administration. According to him, the town has witnessed visible progress with improved road connectivity, better public infrastructure and renewed momentum for growth.

Sarma further said that the Assam government is working with a commitment to bring equitable development to every district so that no region is left behind.

He credited the progress to the “double-engine government” — referring to the BJP-led government in Assam and the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi — which he said has accelerated infrastructure development and boosted public services across the state.

Highlighting the transformation, Sarma invited citizens to witness the changes in Biswanath Chariali, stating that the town’s present condition stands in stark contrast to its earlier state.
