Over 23 Lakh Beneficiaries Receive Free Foodgrains Under PMGKAY in Tripura: Minister Santana Chakma

Agartala: The government in Tripura continues to strengthen food security for its citizens through the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, under which millions of families are receiving free foodgrains.

Tripura Cabinet Minister Santana Chakma said the scheme has already benefited more than 23 lakh people across the state, ensuring that economically vulnerable households have access to essential food supplies.

According to the minister, the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to public welfare and food security. As part of the program’s implementation in Tripura, over 6 lakh ration cards have been issued to eligible beneficiaries so far.

The scheme, launched by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to provide free foodgrains to poor and vulnerable families across the country.

Minister Santana Chakma stated that the government remains dedicated to ensuring that every eligible citizen receives the benefits of the program, adding that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen food distribution and support the welfare of the people of Tripura.
