PM Releases ₹18,600 Crore Under PM-KISAN From Guwahati; Over 18.59 Lakh Farmers in Assam Benefit

Union Minister Atul Bora on Saturday highlighted a major boost for farmers as Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd instalment of funds under the PM-KISAN scheme from Guwahati.

According to Bora, the Prime Minister formally released around ₹18,600 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, benefiting 9.32 crore farmers across India.

In Assam, about 18.59 lakh farmers have benefited from the 22nd instalment, with ₹379 crore released for the state.

Bora expressed happiness at participating in the national-level event alongside several dignitaries, including Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and Union Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, along with MPs, MLAs, and other distinguished guests.


He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strong leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the successful implementation of agricultural schemes such as PM-KISAN has brought transformative changes to the agriculture sector in Assam and improved the livelihoods of farmers.

During the programme, the Prime Minister also launched the land rights distribution initiative under Mission Basundhara, aimed at providing land pattas to over 3.5 lakh families residing in 707 tea gardens across Assam. In the first phase, landless families from 106 tea gardens across 20 districts will receive land rights.

The Prime Minister further inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several public welfare projects worth ₹13,290 crore, including four railway electrification projects. He also inaugurated the PM Ekta Mall in Guwahati, built at a cost of ₹298 crore, aimed at boosting commercial activities in the region.


Bora stated that these initiatives dedicated to public welfare would further accelerate Assam’s development journey and strengthen the progress of the Northeast. He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for visiting Guwahati and encouraging farmers and citizens alike.
