Tripura Launches Women Entrepreneurship Policy to Boost Women-Led Enterprises

Agartala:
The Government of Tripura has launched the Tripura Women Entrepreneurship Policy, marking a major step toward strengthening women-led businesses and promoting entrepreneurship across the state.

Tripura Cabinet Minister Santana Chakma attended the launch event held at Pragna Bhawan along with the State-Level Programme of the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister highlighted that the initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs and encourage aspiring business owners by providing better opportunities, support systems, and an enabling ecosystem for enterprise development in Tripura.

The Tripura Women Entrepreneurship Policy is expected to promote innovation, skill development, and financial inclusion among women, helping them transform their ideas into successful ventures and contribute to the state’s economic growth.

Officials said the policy will also strengthen women-led enterprises in sectors such as food processing, micro-enterprises, and local industries, while aligning with national initiatives to support small businesses and self-employment.

The programme brought together government officials, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs and strengthening the micro food processing sector in Tripura.
