US Conducted ‘Powerful Bombing Raid’ on Iran’s Kharg Island, Claims Trump

Washington, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States carried out a massive airstrike targeting military facilities on Iran’s Kharg Island, describing it as one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East.

In a post on social media, Trump said the operation was conducted by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) under his direction and that all military targets on Kharg Island were “totally obliterated.”

He further stated that while U.S. forces possess the capability to destroy the island’s oil infrastructure, he had chosen not to target it “for reasons of decency.” However, Trump warned that the decision could change if Iran or any other actor interferes with the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes.

Trump also asserted that during his presidency he rebuilt the U.S. military into what he described as the “most lethal, powerful, and effective force anywhere in the world,” claiming Iran lacks the ability to defend against potential American attacks.

Reiterating his longstanding stance, Trump said Iran would “never have a nuclear weapon” and warned that the Iranian military and others linked to what he termed a “terrorist regime” should lay down their arms.

There has been no immediate official confirmation from U.S. defense authorities or Iranian officials regarding the claims made in the social media statement.

Gonsalves explained that the government had argued before the  Supreme Court of India  that certain individuals were residing in refugee camps and therefore could not automatically be granted citizenship.
